The "Wing" Project
This year, our whole school project is a set of Eagle Wings set in the stair well. Each student created a left and right wing which were placed on the wall to create two giant wings. They will stay up all year for the students to enjoy and take pictures in front of. They are set under the saying
"We are all different but together we SOAR".
"We are all different but together we SOAR".
Name Art
The students used Line, Shape, and Pattern to create this "NAME ART" project. We started with 4 wavy lines. Then we wrote our name in capital letters as many times as would fit on the paper separating each name with a symbol of the students choice. We then outlined everything in Sharpie. The students then had the choice of creating patterns in each space between the letters to create a collage effect. The name becomes kind of hidden in the art work.
Color Wheel Collage
4th Graders learned about Color Theory focusing on primary, and secondary colors. We began by mixing primary colors to come up with secondary colors. In order to show what they learned the students created their own primary and secondary color wheel collage using magazines which were donated to school by very generous friends and family. These came out beautiful and each one is unique.
Shaded Cones "Op" Art- Optical Illusion
Op-Art is art that plays a trick on your eyes or an optical illusion. The students created an optical illusion with paper and pencil. They then chose their own unique color scheme and alternated the colors for each tornado tube and shaded while they colored to give them a 3-D look. The illusion is that the "tubes" look like they are rounded and 3 demential due to the way they shaded while they colored.
