The "Wing" Project
This year, our whole school project is a set of Eagle Wings set in the stair well. Each student created a left and right wing which were placed on the wall to create two giant wings. They will stay up all year for the students to enjoy and take pictures in front of. They are set under the saying
"We are all different but together we SOAR".

Shaded Tornado "Op"-Art Optical Illusion |
Color Wheel Eye5th Graders learned about Color Theory focusing on primary, secondary and tertiary colors. We began by mixing primary colors to come up with secondary colors and then mixing a secondary with a primary to come up with a tertiary color. In order to show what they learned the students created their own primary, secondary and tertiary color wheel which they then turned into a unique eye.
Op-Art is art that plays a trick on your eyes or an optical illusion. The students created an optical illusion with paper and pencil and then outlined with sharpie markers. They then used their knowledge of colors to choose colors in the same family to shade in their "tornadoes" to give them a 3-D look. The illusion is that the "tornadoes" look like they are rounded and 3 demential due to the way they shaded while they colored. |
